Secure Your Future
College students are interested in a lot of things like ultimate frisbee, free delivery, and partial credit. Unfortunately securing their personal data is not on that list. To get students interested in an event dedicated to securing their personal data we had a couple of options. One was free food. That always works. The other was empowering them to secure their future, career-wise, and that’s where we found cybersecurity to have the upper hand.
Leveraging the over one million current job openings in cybersecurity we implemented a marketing campaign that emphasized students and their future careers. We offered a place for students to start finding jobs and internships that were readily available. Add in some tips and freebies for securing their personal data and we created a successful event centered around cybersecurity. Now, who wants pizza?
